Petula's Helpful Hints



While it may seem like a good idea to reshape a vintage hat by plunging it into a sinkful of water, I would not actually advise it.

It was kind of dented and misshapen, so I was trying to get it back to its original shape. After that, the plan was to hang it on the wall in a grouping with the other old-lady-hats, where it would likely have been periodically taken down, tried on with various outfits, and then (hopefully) put back on the wall after I'd realize that I looked much too silly to wear it to the supermarket.

I hear that Brady Bunch music that played whenever something went awry with the kids... By the way, I never even thought to glance around the free store when Joe and I make a drop off. Good thinking.

Though I often fantasize about wearing hats (and have quite a few of the vintage variety),they never materialize as an actual fashion moment for me.
