Where Does the Time Go?
Summer whips along so fast!
I'm afraid I have a lack of photogenic projects to show you. I have two nearly-finished-objects that will hopefully be blogworthy soon, but photos will have to wait for some zippers to be installed and hems to be sewn.
In the meantime (because I hate to have picture-free posts), I present you with my cute new shoes that recently arrived in the mail. I'm afraid this might be all you'll ever see of them, though, because I don't think I can wear them out in public, having lost the ability to walk in anything taller than a Dansko.
I used to happily teeter off to high school in a beloved pair of ultra-steep, ultra-pointy black stillettos without giving their impracticality a moment's thought, yet now I find myself quite aware that my lurching movements are reminiscent less of Grace Kelly than of Divine. The fact that wearing shoes like these in L.L. Beantown is the social equivalent of slapping a sign on my forehead that says "I don't have enough common sense to wear functional clothing" isn't adding to my comfort in any way.
Oh well, maybe a bit more practice and watching a couple episodes of Mad Men will give me enough courage to head out of doors in them. I'll let you know.
In other news, my friend Julia Pequlia recently came for a visit and we had a great evening together. She's a big fan of bunnies, and she made a movie starring the Darling household's very own Mr. Morris. She wrote a very nice post about the visit on her blog, and you can even see his cinematic debut there.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love them....
comfort schmomfort...they're adorable...that's *all* that matters, right???
Well, if you want to *really* flaunt a who-cares-about-functional-clothing attitude, we should both wear high heels and petticoats when I next come for a visit. At the end of December. On icy sidewalks. Maybe we'll have to have escorts so we can slip a delicately gloved hand through their manly arms ...
You definitely need to wear those shoes.

Great shoes. How can you not wear them? Do not disappoint me! Here's a tutorial:
